Labeling Requirements

The USDA "says" ALL Meat & Poultry Labels are required to have the following elements:

  • Product NameMust accurately describe the product.
  • Handling StatementKeep Refrigerated; Keep Frozen; Keep Refrigerated or Frozen Net Weight.
  • Ingredient Statement
  • Signature (address) Line
  • Inspection LegendThe "P" Number
  • If Raw, "Safe Handling Requirements" must also appear.
