80 Years of Poultry Experience

In 1920, Arthur W. Perdue started the business with a backyard table-egg poultry farm in Salisbury, Maryland. Under the leadership of Arthur's son Frank Perdue, the company grew into a multi-faceted agribusiness with sales of over $2 billion per year. Frank's son, Jim Perdue, now heads the company in the third generation of family leadership. Beginning its ninth decade of growth, Perdue is still family-owned and operated, still privately held and offers a heritage of quality and leadership unmatched by any other poultry company today.

Service and Responsibility

Perdue offers a technologically advanced order processing system that will streamline shipping, invoicing and reporting, while providing a high level of customer service available in the industry today. Our professional, product-focused sales force will bring expert product knowledge and service to our customers. Need to know when your Perdue shipment will be arriving? Many of Perdue's trucks are equipped with the On-Board Exception Monitoring System. The system utilizes the latest computer/satellite tracking capabilities to stay in step with customer delivery schedules.

Perdue® quality encompasses every aspect, from the egg to the customer's plate. To maintain the high levels of quality for which our products are known, our hatcheries, feed mills, processing facilities, laboratories, and distribution centers rely on leading-edge technology. To further ensure the high quality of Perdue® poultry products and stabilize our costs, Perdue operates a separate Grain and Oilseed division. This facet of our company lets us control the diet, process the grains, and carefully blend the feeds that produce wholesome and healthy birds for our customers.

Providing the highest level of quality poultry to our customers requires establishing confidence in the safety of our poultry. Food Safety is a top concern for today's foodservice operators and as a company dedicated to finding solutions to these ever-growing challenges, we know that providing safe, labor-saving, convenient products is the key. Perdue's multi step food safety process begins on the farm. Our internally developed Microbial Reduction plan researches virtually every aspect of our process as products pass through to our plant facilities. This process was designed using the same principles as those used to develop the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) programs now required by the USDA.
