Corporate Citizenship

Perdue Farms is proud of the leadership role we're providing in addressing challenges related to animal agriculture and food processing. We've invested—and continue to invest—millions of dollars in research, new technology, equipment upgrades, and awareness and education as part of our ongoing commitment to protecting the environment.

Flock Health / Antibiotics Position
More and more consumers are concerned about the food they eat. At Perdue Farms, we ensure product quality and safety by growing our own birds-and by actively following a policy for the continual reduction of antibiotic use. Insuring the wholesomeness and health of our flocks, our highly trained team includes board-certified veterinarians specializing in poultry as well as a broad range of scientists and technicians with access to the most-up-to-date laboratory equipment available.

Animal Welfare
At Perdue Farms Incorporated we believe quality starts with caring. Perdue is committed to the welfare of all our poultry and to ensuring their humane treatment. All our poultry is treated with respect for their safety, health and comfort, and are raised, transported and processed under humane conditions. Perdue veterinarians, scientists and live production departments work with outside experts in the field of animal welfare to continually improve our Poultry Welfare Program by developing codes of "Best Practices" based upon the best science available. Perdue® AgriRecycleTM Process
Perdue® AgriRecycleTM, a joint venture company, is the first operation of its kind to convert surplus poultry litter into organic fertilizer pellets formulated for precision agriculture. These pasteurized, all-natural fertilizer pellets are then shipped for use to nutrient deficient regions across the United States. (To learn more about how these pellet plants provide environmentally sound solutions to manage surplus chicken litter, click here.)
