Labeling Requirements
The USDA "says" ALL Meat & Poultry Labels are required to have the following elements:
- Product NameMust accurately describe the product.
- Handling StatementKeep Refrigerated; Keep Frozen;
Keep Refrigerated or Frozen Net Weight.
- Ingredient Statement
- Signature (address) Line
- Inspection LegendThe "P" Number
- If Raw, "Safe Handling Requirements" must also appear.
